I’ve been dying to do a new origin article since Parasyte Origins. However, The series thus far has presented some very interesting Yokai, but they seemed to be originally made or at least their origins have been very hard to find.
Episode 9 has presented the first prominent Yokai of Japanese Mythology, Kamaitachi. Kamaitachi also known as “sickle weasel” travel in threes. Moving at incredible speeds through winds the first knocks a human over, while the second one creates a slicing wound, while the third instantly heals the wound even before the human could see what had happened. People have claimed Kamaitachi responsible for the stinging sensation of cold winds, or pain in the legs resulting from a fall.
While the anime version of this Yokai performed these actions to drive humans away from their home, history paints the picture of this creature being just plain mysterious.
If you are a fan of cryptids, Yokai, and other mysterious creatures I recommend this anime to you that is bound to tickle your curiosity for the myths of this world.
